What's the difference between all these Nintendo DS systems?
The first Nintendo DS was launched in 2005. Since then, several newer versions of the system have been launched: the Nintendo DS Lite, the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo DSi XL. Each system had different characteristics, but they all played Nintendo DS games. In 2011, Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS system, which is a brand new handheld console. In 2012 Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS XL system, which features the largest screens of any Nintendo handheld. In 2013 Nintendo launched the Nintendo 2DS, which plays all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D. Please note that games made for Nintendo 3DS cannot be played on Nintendo DS family of systems, however, Nintendo DS games can still be played on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
