Splatoon 3 players across Australia and New Zealand will get a chance to compete for prizes and glory in the Splatoon 3 AU/NZ Championship 2023, culminating in a live Australian and New Zealand final at PAX Australia 2023 in Melbourne!
Starting in August, Nintendo Australia is hosting a series of online qualifying events for the Splatoon 3 AU/NZ Championship. These open qualifiers will determine the top teams who will compete in the finals on Sunday, 8th October at PAX Australia 2023. There are multiple ways to play and participate, and players of all experience levels are welcome.
Eligible players of the Splatoon 3 game will have a chance to compete during our two qualifiers on Saturday 19th August and Sunday 27th August from 11:00am AEST / 1:00pm NZST.
Australia and New Zealand’s freshest Splatoon 3 squads will be decided through Turf War and Anarchy Battle modes, where strong teamwork and clever strategy will be needed in heated four-on-four match-ups. Registered teams will face off against each other in Turf War best-of-three single elimination bracket, with the quarter and semi-finals in Turf War and Anarchy Battle best-of-five single elimination.
The winning team from each qualifier will be invited to the Live Grand Final at PAX Australia on Sunday, 8th October 2023.
There’s a bunch of My Nintendo goodies up for grabs for playing:
The top team across each qualifier (8 players total) will be awarded 1,000 My Nintendo Gold Points.
5 randomly selected teams (20 players total) will be awarded 1,000 My Nintendo Gold Points.
All participants will also receive 50 Platinum Points per day just for playing.
Players can get discounts on their next Nintendo eShop purchase with their Gold Points and use their Platinum Points for physical and digital rewards.

Online Qualifier #1
Date: Saturday 19th August
Time: 11:00am AEST / 1:00pm NZST
Online Qualifier #2
Date: Sunday 27th August
Time: 11:00am AEST / 1:00pm NZST
And now you’re all ready to squad up and ink your way to victory!
Scores reset at the end of each qualifier, so if you don’t win the first day, try again! But please remember, a single team may only claim one prize. For example, if a team finishes in the first position on the first day, and if that same team happens to land in the first position during the remainder of the event, they will only be eligible for the first position prize once. Instead, the next eligible team on the leader board will be declared a winner for that tournament day. This way, everyone has a shot!
