About My Nintendo

What is My Nintendo?

My Nintendo is a Nintendo Account service that connects your Nintendo experiences across multiple touchpoints, from gaming systems to computers and smart devices.

Earn points by playing apps on your smart devices or buying digital games for Nintendo Switch, Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. These points can be redeemed for various My Nintendo rewards.

You can also use My Nintendo Gold Points as payment towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch game and DLC purchases on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.

Can children under 13 participate in My Nintendo?

A Nintendo Account is required to start using My Nintendo. As stated in the Nintendo Account Agreement, children under the age of 13 cannot create their own Nintendo Account. However, a Nintendo Account for a child under 13 (and up to age 17) can be created by a parent/guardian by adding it through the parent/guardian’s Nintendo Account. Once the Nintendo Account has been created for a child, they can participate in My Nintendo.

Can I delete my Nintendo Account?

  • Mission status, points and rewards in the My Nintendo rewards programme

  • Digital content that you purchased or acquired and that is linked to your Nintendo Account, including in-app content and coins

Can I change my country of residence?

Yes, it is possible to change your country of residence.

Please read the following important information first:

  • Gold Points are only usable in countries and regions that use the same currency as the country/region where they were earned. If you change the country/region setting associated with your Nintendo Account, your Gold Points will remain in your Nintendo Account, but they will not be displayed and cannot be used in countries or regions with a different currency.

  • Your Nintendo eShop account balance does not carry over when you change your Nintendo Account country/region setting. You will need to use the remaining funds before you can change this setting.

  • To redeem rewards for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS downloadable games or content, your Nintendo Account country/region setting must be the same as that of your Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS system.

    • For example, if your Nintendo Account is set to Australia, you can redeem points for a Wii U or Nintendo 3DS download code. This code will only work on a console or system with its country/region set to Australia. (It would not work on a console or system with its country/region set to Japan, for example.)

    • Please note that point refunds or download code exchanges will not be made if you mistakenly redeem your points for a download code for the wrong country/region.
