How to Voice Chat Using the Nintendo Switch Online App

Information on how to use the voice chat feature of the Nintendo Switch Online app on smart devices.

• An active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the voice chat features of the Nintendo Switch Online app. 

• For help determining which games support the Voice Chat feature, please see the full list of compatible titles.

• The Nintendo Switch Online app service can be used by Nintendo Switch Online members who are age 13 and older. 

Complete these steps

1. From your smart device, download and install the Nintendo Switch Online app. 

2. Start the Nintendo Switch Online app and sign in with your Nintendo Account. 

3. From your Nintendo Switch console, start the compatible software using the same Nintendo Account as used on the Nintendo Switch Online app. 

4. On the Nintendo Switch, start the game mode (multiplayer) that supports voice chat. 

5. On the smart device, select "Start" after receiving the prompt asking, "Start voice chat?" 

6. As you play online, other players using the Nintendo Switch Online app will join the voice chat lobby as they join your online game.
