Forgot Nintendo Account Sign-in Info (Email Address, Password, Sign-in ID)

Situation:

You have forgotten the information (e-mail address or password) associated to your Nintendo Account.

What to Do:

Have you forgotten the information to a standard Nintendo Account or a Nintendo Account for a child?

Nintendo Account for a Child

  • Your log in information can be verified and reset through your parent / guardian’s Nintendo Account.

  • To verify your User ID, your parent / guardian can log into their account and click “Family group.” All associated accounts for children will appear.

     

  • If you have forgotten your password, have your parent / guardian reset your password through their account.

 

Nintendo Account

  • Make sure you are using the correct method to sign in. If you created your Nintendo Account by linking it to an existing account (such as Twitter or Facebook), select the corresponding button on the sign in page to sign in via your existing account.

     

  • If you have not yet created a Nintendo Account, select “Create a Nintendo Account” on the sign in page, then follow the steps to create your account. (Note that a Nintendo Network ID can be linked to a Nintendo Account, but they are not the same thing.)

     

  • If you do not remember the password associated to your Nintendo Account, and you created your account with:

    • Social Media Services (Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple ID) – Visit the social networking site that you used to sign in to your Nintendo Account, and use their Help area for directions to update your password.

       

    • No other services (Nintendo Account only) – Click “Forgot your password?” on the sign in page to reset your password.

       

  • You can view the e-mail address associated to your Nintendo Account through the Profile Settings on your Nintendo Switch.

     

    1. On the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select your user icon.

       

    2. Select “User Settings,” then “Check Nintendo Account Settings.”

       

    3. Enter your password when prompted to view the e-mail associated with your Nintendo Account.

 Situation Not Resolved

If you do not remember or have access to the e-mail address associated to your Nintendo Account, we will need to update your e-mail address before you can use the Forgot Password feature. If you need to have the e-mail address updated, please contact us for support.
