    • Can I Purchase Multiple Nintendo Switch Online Memberships to Extend My Membership Time?

You can purchase or redeem download codes for multiple memberships of the same type (individual or family) to extend your overall membership time. For example, if you purchase an individual membership of any time length when you already have an individual membership, the time will be added on to the end of your current membership period. The remaining time on your account can be increased up to 3 years.

Please note that you cannot combine time from a family membership and an individual membership when redeeming download codes. You will receive whichever amount of time is longer.

If you purchase a family membership using a Nintendo Account that currently has an individual membership, you will be offered a discounted price based on the number of remaining days on your individual membership. After purchasing the discounted family membership, your individual membership will end, and your family membership will begin.

      Examples:

      • If you have 35 days remaining on your individual membership and you purchase an additional 1-year individual membership, your remaining time will be increased to 400 days.

      • If you have 35 days remaining on an individual membership and you purchase a 1-year family membership, the price of the family membership will be discounted, the remaining 35 days on your individual membership will be removed, and you will begin your 1-year family membership.

      • If you have 35 days remaining on an individual membership and you are added to someone else's family membership, your individual membership will continue and will not be added to the family membership. Make sure to adjust your auto-renewal settings for the individual membership appropriately.

      • If you are part of a family group with someone who has 35 days remaining on a family membership and you purchase a 1-year family membership, both memberships will run concurrently and will not add together. Only the user who bought the original membership can extend it by purchasing an additional family membership.
    • Can I Cancel My Nintendo Switch Online Membership?

You can cancel your Nintendo Switch Online membership by turning off the auto-renewal setting for your membership. This will discontinue the service at the end of your current term. (Make sure to turn off auto-renewal at least 48 hours before your membership is set to expire.)

You will continue to receive the service for the duration of time that you have already paid for, then your membership will end on the expiration date listed in your settings.

Please note the following when discontinuing your Nintendo Switch Online membership:

      • A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the online multiplayer features for most Nintendo Switch titles.
      • If a Nintendo Switch Online membership expires, users won’t be able to access their Save Data Cloud backups. However, Nintendo will allow users who resubscribe within 180 days to access their previous Save Data Cloud backups.
      • Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online titles are only available to Nintendo Switch Online members.
      • If you have purchased a Family Membership, the other members of your family group will also no longer be able to use the service when your membership ends.

    • How Do Nintendo Switch Online Family Memberships Work?

Purchasing a Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership provides the Nintendo Switch Online service to everyone in the purchaser’s Nintendo Account family group. (Up to 8 Nintendo Account users)

      • Family Memberships can be purchased by anyone aged 18+.
      • Players using a Family Membership can access the Nintendo Switch Online service via the same Nintendo Switch system or multiple systems – everyone does not have to use the same system.
      • Multiple users on the same console are not automatically covered by a Family Membership. If one player purchases a Family Membership, the others will still need to be added to the family group to use the service.
      • The Nintendo Switch Online membership will automatically apply to everyone in the family group, including people that are added to the group later.
      • The purchaser does not have to be the account admin for the group. However, only the account admin for the family group can add or remove people from the group.

      • If a person that did not purchase the Family Membership leaves the family group, they will no longer be covered by the service.
      • Nintendo Accounts covered by a Family Membership cannot purchase or redeem a code for an Individual Membership.
      • Family Memberships cannot be combined with Individual Memberships to extend the membership term.
      • If someone with an Individual Membership joins a group with a Family Membership, they will receive the service for the length of time that is longest – they will not receive both time-frames total.

      • If one person in the family group purchases a Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership, all members of the family group will be covered for as long as they remain in the purchaser’s family group. • A family group can have to up 8 members.
      • Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership remains with the Nintendo Account that purchased the membership. It will always cover the purchaser’s current family group.
        • If the purchaser leaves or is moved from the family group, the other members of that original group will not have access to the service until they join a purchaser’s group.

      Complete These Steps:

      1. Determine which Nintendo Account family group you want to move members to.
        • It is recommended that you use the family group that currently has the most members, so there are fewer members to move.

        • You will need to either move or delete every supervised account within the old family group. The admin will not be able to join the new family group later if there are any supervised accounts still within their group.
        • The new family group admin will need to accept the transfer as part of the process.
      3. Next, remove any additional general accounts from the old family group.
      4. Finally, have the admin for the new family group invite all members of the old family group to their group.
      5. Once the members have accepted the invitation, they will all be included within the new family group and can be covered under the same Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership plan.
