One fine day...

The two groups struggled over the treasure until…CRASH! The Sundream Stone broke, and its magical gems scattered far over the horizon. With no time to waste, the Yoshis set out to find the missing Dream Gems and fix the stone, before Baby Bowser and Kamek get their grubby mitts on it.

The Yoshis were playing around a gem-set wonder called the Sundream Stone, thought to have the power to make someone’s wildest dreams come true. After they hear about this amazing stone, Baby Bowser and Kamek fly to the island of the Yoshis, determined to steal it.

Islands of adventure

Travel across exotic islands, adventuring through levels made from cartons, paper and all manner of crafty household items as you search for the Dream Gems. Grab Smiley Flowers along the way to continue your island trek and open up new places to explore!

Fling eggs at enemies and discover secrets galore as you head towards the goal in the Front Side. Then, see each level from a new perspective in the Flip Side, and find the Poochy Pups hidden in the craftiest of hiding spots.

Explore to your heart's desire

Go Yoshi go!

Yoshi’s got plenty of tricks to help on the journey! Reach high platforms and clear long gaps with the Flutter Jump or squash baddies with the Ground Pound. Gobble up enemies with Yoshi’s sticky tongue and turn them into eggs to throw at oncoming enemies, or to open new paths.

If you’re struggling on your adventure, turn on Mellow Mode to give you that extra bit of help. In this mode, the Yoshis get wings, allowing them to soar over those tricky obstacles.

Island hopping

As the Yoshis travel from island to island, they’ll run into the Blockafeller family. These happy chaps will gladly open the way to the next area, but only if you’ve got enough Smiley Flowers. Five are hidden in each level’s Front Side, so stay on the lookout for them.

On the hunt

Keep a close eye on your surroundings while exploring, as Yoshi can throw eggs in any direction – even into the foreground and background. From picking up precious Smiley Flowers with a perfectly-placed egg to juggling cardboard cows, be ready to take aim at anything around you. You may just find a secret area!

As well as the shiny gold kind, be on the hunt for Red Coins in each level too. Collect 20 of them and you’ll earn yourself an extra Smiley Flower.

Catch you on the Flip Side

Along with a Front Side, almost every level in Yoshi’s Crafted World has a Flip Side you can explore. Each Flip Side has you going “behind-the-scenes”, revealing the everyday items that make up these imaginative worlds. Biscuit boxes, milk cartons, plastic cups – you’ll be surprised what goes into each stage.

When playing through the Flip Side, your goal is to find the three Poochy Pups hiding within each level, and then reach the end as fast as you can. These pups are quite the handful, so be prepared to look high and low for these rascals!

A Yoshi safari

From a train ride through the deepest jungles, to being chased through the desert by a dinosaur skeleton, Yoshi’s journey is full of surprises!

Go-Go Yoshi - Punch punch punch! Smash through this level inside a handmade Yoshi robot.

Jungle Tour Challenge – Take on a cardboard animal shooting gallery on this jungle train ride.

Skelesaurus Wrecks – Sprint to the goal with an angry fossil in hot pursuit!

Solar Zoom – Aim for first place in this solar-powered car race.

Fancy dress

Dotted around each island are special gumball machines, where the Yoshis can spend Coins on special Costumes. These outfits allow you to take some extra hits without losing health, and they look really cool, so consider dressing up for those tough stages.

By tapping select amiibo (sold separately), you can unlock special amiibo Costumes. You can even dress up in an amiibo box!

Play together

Double the fun

Give a Joy-Con to a friend and gather the Dream Gems as a dynamic duo*! A second player can drop in or out at any time, so someone can always jump in to help you on your adventure.

Each player can also use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, or two Joy-Con controllers in a Joy-Con grip.

Strength in numbers

When playing together, you can jump on each other’s backs to work as one. While riding on the back of your partner, your eggs and Ground Pound pack a real wallop! If you want to work separately again, simply jump off your pal’s back and continue your quest.

You can even swallow your fellow Yoshi and spit them out again! Use this to get to hard-to-reach places, or cross gaps that a single Yoshi may struggle to clear. Play around with your abilities and see what you can discover.
