Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO)

Since August 2002 NAL has been a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) and aims to share the same principles of product stewardship and shared responsibility.

NAL is committed to ensuring that environmental considerations are included wherever practicable, from the product and packaging planning and development stages through to the end of the working life and disposal of the product and packaging. With these considerations in mind NAL seeks to minimise the impact on the environment as much as is commercially possible.

As a member of APCO, NAL is required to submit an Action Plan and Annual Report on an annual basis. This allows Members to monitor and track their packaging sustainability progress over time by reporting against, and selecting commitments in line with, the Packaging Sustainability Framework.

Other programs

To keep waste to a minimum all staff are encouraged to dispose of any waste in the correct manner using the recycling and waste bins provided throughout the office.

Our warehouse and service departments also ensure the correct methods of reuse or recycling processes are followed with our products and packaging.

Since 2014 Nintendo Australia has taken part in Business Clean Up Day as part of the annual Clean Up Australia event. Clean Up Australia inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment.

NAL encourages all staff to get involved to make a difference in our local community.

Since 2014 Nintendo Australia has taken part in Corporate National Tree Day. National Tree Day has now grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature protection event as we strive to see over one million new trees, shrubs and grasses planted each year.

Run by our local council, staff at Nintendo Australia attend this day which is also attended by other local businesses, schools, local community groups and members of the public.

Ink Cartridge Recycling
