Latest Wii U System update information

Nintendo constantly aims to improve its services and the functionality of its consoles in order to provide customers with the best possible user experience. As a part of these efforts, we are making system software updates for Wii U available through the internet, and also pre-installing them on selected Wii U discs.

IMPORTANT: Your Wii U console is not designed for use with any existing or future unauthorised device or software that enables technical modification of the Wii U console or software. Any such unauthorised use may render your Wii U console permanently unplayable and result in the removal of content.

System updates will be downloaded automatically if the console is connected to the internet. Once the download has completed, a prompt to install the system update will appear at certain screens.

System updates can also be performed manually if the console is connected to the internet by starting System Settings from the Wii U Menu, and then selecting SYSTEM UPDATE.
