Contest Categories

  • Kids - Toy-con creators aged 11 and under
  • Teens/adults – Toy-Con creators all ages 12 and above

You can enter each category multiple times, as long as you stick to one unique creation per submission. Please make sure each contest submission follows the Terms and Conditions.
Contest Criteria

Creators are tasked with either submitting a new, original Toy-Con project using Toy-Con Garage, a mod of an existing Toy-Con, or their own uniquely decorated Toy-Con.

(A) If you choose to submit a custom-decorated Toy-Con:

  • Photo or video may be used for Entry
  • Use either the Toy-Con Variety Kit or Toy-Con Robot Kit
  • Decorate your Toy-Con with craft materials of your choice
  • Toy-Con must maintain the function as originally programmed

(B) If you choose to submit a Toy-Con Garage creation:

  • Video must be used for Entry
  • Create one (1) modified Toy-Con from either the Variety Kit or Robot Kit, or one (1) totally unique Toy-Con of your own making, crafted from cardboard
  • Up to eight (8) Joy-Con controllers can be used for a single Toy-Con modification/creation
  • Video must demonstrate the Toy-Con project’s functionality
  • Video must include description of how the Toy-Con has been modified and/or constructed or created if original
  • Video must include footage of the Toy-Con schematic
  • Only tools included in Toy-Con Garage are permitted

Show us your design skills decorating your Toy-Con in amazing ways!

  • Submit a photo or video of your decorated Toy-Con creation.
  • Use any craft materials you choose, as long as the Toy-Con creation still functions properly.
  • Use any Toy-Con creation included in the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit or Nintendo Labo Robot Kit.
  • Get creative!

Toy-Con Mods

Modify Toy-Con creations from the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit or Nintendo Labo Robot Kit (or a combination of both) to make them do something new.

  • Use only the tools found in Toy-Con Garage mode to change or enhance the Toy-Con creation’s functionality. (Craft materials are also allowed.)
  • Submit a video in which you show and describe your Toy-Con creation modification.
  • Be sure to include your project screens from Toy-Con Garage mode in the video.
  • Nintendo staff may follow up to validate your entry.

Toy-Con Inventions

Calling all inventors! It's time to make new, original Toy-Con projects.

  • Use any craft materials you like – do not feel limited purely to the cardboard from the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con kit(s).
  • Use only the tools found in Nintendo Labo’s Toy-Con Garage mode to set-up the Toy-Con project’s functionality.
  • Submit a video (can be a YouTube video) in which you show and describe your Toy-Con Garage invention.
  • Be sure to include your project screens from Toy-Con Garage mode in the video.
  • Use a maximum of eight Joy-Con controllers.
  • Nintendo staff may follow up to validate your entry.
