Wii Remote Jacket

Nintendo is committed to ensuring an innovative and unique game play experience on the Wii. To help players adapt to this new style of play and provide additional protection we have created a protective cover for the Wii Remote - the "Wii Remote Jacket".

We recommend to fit the "Wii Remote Jacket" to the Wii Remote in order to enhance your grip and ­provide additional protection if the Wii Remote is accidentally thrown or dropped during game play.

The "Wii Remote Jacket" is being offered free of charge to all Wii owners.

Wii Remote Wrist Strap Replacement Details

Nintendo is offering to replace the original version of the wrist straps for the Wii Remote with a newer version. We have received some reports that when consumers swing the Wii Remote with the original version of the wrist strap using excessive force and accidentally let go, the cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break, potentially causing the Wii Remote to fly across the room. Because some of the Wii consoles shipped in early December utilise the original version of the wrist strap, you will need to determine which version of the wrist strap you have before requesting a replacement. Please see the diagram below to determine if you have the original version of the wrist strap. If your Wii Remote already has the new version of the wrist strap it is not necessary to replace it. The newer wrist strap is thicker than the original version.
