Nintendo DSi XL Support

    • Touch screen not reacting or acting on its own

Please calibrate the Touch Screen. Choose the option "Touch Screen" in the Nintendo DSi settings menu.
Please make sure you exactly tap the displayed calibration points (upper left corner, lower right corner, middle). If you have done this correctly a message "Calibration complete" will appear.

If you use a protective film on your Touch Screen please be aware that this can reduce the sensitivity of the Touch Screen. In addition, if the protective film is not attached properly, the Touch Screen can receive incorrect control impulses, which can influence your ability to control.

In this case please remove the protective film and re-calibrate the Nintendo DSi XL as described above.

If this is not successful the Nintendo DSi XL will need to be returned to Nintendo Australia for inspection/repair.

      1. First please ensure that the inserted game supports the Nintendo DSi microphone feature.

      2. Check whether this problem only occurs when playing a certain game or if it occurs with all games.

If the inserted game offers a menu option for adjusting the microphone, use this option to adjust the sensitivity level for the microphone. (You will find more information on settings options in the respective game manual).

    • Wi-Fi settings erased

This normally occurs for example, when a Wi-Fi-compatible game has been played on a different Nintendo DS system, because the Wi-Fi settings/data stored are system-specific.

    • Touch Screen is dirty

    • System automatically switches to Sleep Mode

First make sure there are no magnets (e.g., from speaker cabinets) located near the Nintendo DSi and if necessary, move the Nintendo DSi XL to an area that is not affected by magnetic interference.

If this does not solve the problem, the Nintendo DSi XL will need to be returned to Nintendo Australia for inspection/repair.

    • Power indicator doesn't light up

To charge the battery plug the system directly into a wall outlet using the AC adapter (included). When the Nintendo DSi XL battery pack is fully charged the recharge indicator LED will go out.

If this does not solve the problem, try using a different original Nintendo DSi XL AC adapter with your Nintendo DSi XL if possible.

If the Nintendo DSi XL does not function with a different AC adapter, the Nintendo DSi XL will need to be returned to Nintendo Australia for inspection/repair.
