      To perform the software update, start StreetPass Mii Plaza while connected to the internet and follow the on-screen instructions.

      If instructions for the software update are not displayed after starting StreetPass Mii Plaza, you can update the software by selecting the "Check for Updates" option within StreetPass Mii Plaza. If the "Check for Updates" option isn't available within StreetPass Mii Plaza then you will need to perform a system update.

      An issue has been found with some game data, where the game will freeze during the ending movie after the player has beaten the Elite Four. The release of a software update to fix this issue is being planned for approximately one week’s time.       New update data (Version 1.1) for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire has been released in Nintendo eShop. All customers who own Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire should download this update data.

      Important notes: It is necessary to download this update to access Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire features which require the internet. If you do not, you will not be able to use functions, including the following:

       

      • Connecting to the internet from the PSS.
      • Using Wonder Trade.
      • Performing a game sync.
      • Connecting to the GTS.
      • Receiving Mystery Gifts.

      Starting in mid-May 2012, update data, also commonly known as a "patch", will be distributed on Nintendo eShop.

      The purpose of this data is to correct unfair shortcuts when playing online games on the courses Wuhu Island Loop, Wuhu Mountain Loop and GBA Bowser Castle 1. Please be aware that if you do not download this update data, you will not be able to play online multiplayer games in Mario Kart 7.

      Single Player mode and local multiplayer mode will not be updated. These can be played without downloading the update data.
