Game Boy Color (and Pokemon Pikachu 2) are equipped with infrared communication ports to allow a brief transfer of information between the units. When players wish to trade data you should place your Game Boy Color’s or Pokemon Pikachu 2 close together (within 2 inches) to be able to transmit the information from one unit to another without wires. For a 2-player game, you will still need the Universal Game Link Cable.

11. The screen seems to dark, why?

If the game is playing then your Gameboy Colour is working properly, even if the display is a little darker than you expected. There is no need to have your system repaired or adjusted.

Nintendo have used a reflective TFT screen in the Gameboy Colour that allows for sharper colour pictures while keeping battery drainage low.

To get maximum picture brightness, be sure to play in a well-lit area, natural sunlight outdoors works really well. If indoors a light source that is above or behind the player will maximise the brightness of the game.
