1. What is Game Boy Advance?

Nintendo’s 32-bit Game Boy Advance is the latest handheld gaming craze. 2. What is the Game Boy Advance SP?

The Game Boy Advance SP is the sleek new design for the Game Boy Advance. It plays all of the same games, but now features an all new illuminated screen so you can play under any light conditions. The Game Boy Advance SP is also half the size of the original Game Boy Advance, with a stylish flip top screen design that makes this the most portable Game Boy ever. The unit is powered by an in-built rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, so there is no longer any need to buy batteries.

3. How long will batteries last on the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP?

With a power supply of two AA batteries, Game Boy Advance allows for up to 15 hours of continuous play.
With the Game Boy Advance SP’s in built Lithium Ion rechargeable battery cell, you won’t ever need to buy batteries again. Simply plug the included AC Adaptor in to re-charge the battery when the power runs low.
The play time for the Game Boy Advance SP has been extended to 18 hours when the light is switched off. When the light is switched on the battery lasts for 10 hours of continuous play.

4. Is it safe to leave my Game Boy Advance SP plugged in and charging over night?

Yes! Once you have plugged the AC Adaptor into the back of your Game Boy Advance SP the system will re-charge itself. When the system has been charged to full capacity it will automatically switch off. There is no danger of overheating your battery overnight.

5. Is it safe to charge my Game Boy Advance SP battery if it is not fully flat?

Yes, you can plug the Game Boy Advance SP in when the battery isn’t fully depleted to ensure you have maximum playtime every time. This will not damage the battery. If the battery power is fully depleted, it is important to charge it as soon as possible. Do not leave the battery drained for extended periods of time.

6. How much play time do I have left when my power light turns red?

When your Game Boy Advance power light turns red, you have approximately 3 hours of play time left.
When your Game Boy Advance SP power light turns red, this signifies that your Game Boy will need to be charged as soon as possible. You will have only have approximately 30 minutes of play time left after the red light first appears.

7. Does the Game Boy Advance SP have a headphone jack?

The headphone jack for the Game Boy Advance SP is not built into the unit. For those that prefer playing with headphones, an external headphone jack is available for $9, which you can purchase through Nintendo Australia by calling the customer support number on (03) 9730 9822.

8. How does the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP work when connected to the Nintendo GameCube?

There are numerous games that can be connected using the GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. Different games have different connectivity features. Please see your games packaging to see if it is compatible. A good example is Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion. By linking the two games together you can unlock the original NES game and a new suit for the GameCube version. In the Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, you can use the Game Boy Advance to let a second player join in the adventure to help unlock hidden treasures and find helpful clues.

9. How powerful is the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP?

11. Is Game Boy Advance similar in design to the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color?

12. Can Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP play multi-player games?

Yes, using a Game Boy Advance link cable (sold separately), up to four Game Boy Advance systems can be linked up for head-to-head action in multi-player compatible games. Some multi-player games are capable of basic multi-player features using a single “host” game pak (one pak, four players), while other games will offer enhanced options by using a game pak in each system (four paks, four players).

13. Can I play my Game Boy and Game Boy Color games on Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP?

Absolutely. Game Boy Advance is backwards compatible with virtually all of the Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles.

14. Can I play Game Boy Advance games on my Game Boy or Game Boy Color?

No, due to the advanced technology of Game Boy Advance software, these next-generation games are incompatible with previous Game Boy systems and can damage your system if used incorrectly.

15. Is Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP compatible with Game Boy Camera?

Yes, however, images will still be captured in black & white.
