The original Super Smash Bros. was a huge hit
on Nintendo 64. It was widely lauded as one of the best multi-player
games ever. The basic aim was to knock players off multi-level
platforms to win. This concept remains the same in Super Smash
Bros. Melee, but the game is a great leap forward. With major
graphical improvements, updated single player capabilities, countless
secrets and extras to unlock, customisable settings and frantic
4-player action, Super Smash Bros. Melee is not just a sequel,
it is one of the best developed and perfectly executed games yet.
Super Smash Bros. Melee features over 20 of
Nintendos Superstar characters from favourite past and present
Nintendo games, including: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Link,
Bowser, Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers, Samus, Pikachu, Kirby, Yoshi
and many more. Classic characters have been enhanced down to the
smallest detail. Nintendos All Star line-up of characters
has never looked so good.

-

never looked so good. Characters have a very impressive solid
look to them. There is no evidence of polygons or blocky characters.
All are super smooth, crisp, very colourful and animated brilliantly.
-
The depth and variety of the 30 plus levels
is very exciting, with so many different styles brought together
to make one brilliant looking game.

- In addition to 25 characters, over 30 arenas 9 different
game modes, Super Smash Bros. Melee also offers all new moves
and techniques and nearly 30 new offensive and defensive items
to use in battle.
- Many of the modes, characters and levels have to be unlocked,
and there are nearly 300 trophies from Nintendos history
to collect.
- As well as traditional multiplayer fighting matches, Super
Smash Bros. Melee offers an immense choice of 1-player modes.
Players can delve into a 1-player adventure, which puts them
in classic 2-D side scrolling levels based on Nintendo games,
such as Super Mario Bros., Zelda 2, Ice Climbers, F-Zero and
more.

to take the ultimate challenge to complete specially designed
scenarios. Event battles include Bomb Battles, fights against
giant, invisible, or multiple characters, Coin Battles, Poke-ball
Battles and many more.
- New battle arenas seen in Super Smash Bros. Melee are exceptional.

and updated for the GameCube. For example, one fighting stage
is positioned above a highly dangerous F-Zero race-track,
another is set at Hyrule Temple.
- A key feature of Super Smash Bros. Melee is its speed and
incredibly frantic gameplay. With 4-players on screen simultaneously
the game does not slow down, or even falter, which is an incredible
achievement considering the high quality of graphics.
Soundwise
Super Smash Bros. Melee is an epic journey down memory lane. All
of Nintendos classic tunes are faithfully reproduced and
perfectly orchestrated and modernised for new and old fans alike
to enjoy. Catchy and inspiring tunes such as the ones from the
Super Mario Bros. adventures, Metroid, F-Zero, Kirby, Starfox,
Donkey Kong 64 and Zelda are brought back from the past in outstanding
fashion. For old-school Nintendo fans these tunes will bring much
joy and memories.

games in Nintendos history are all on the one game, this
is basically the best video game soundtrack ever
assembled. Listening to all of Nintendos music in such high
quality is a real treat and makes one aware of how special these
video game tunes really are. |
