Introducing a new dimension in kart racing, Mario Kart 7 brings Mushroom Kingdom racing fun into glorious 3D - and that's just the beginning, as new courses, strategic new abilities and customisable karts bring the racing excitement to new heights.

New kart abilities add to the wild fun that the games are known for. On big jumps, a kart deploys a wing to let it glide over the track shortcut. When underwater, a propeller pops out to help the kart cruise across the sea floor.

You can show your own style by customising your vehicle for a competitive advantage. For instance, giant tyres help a kart drive off-road, while smaller ones accelerate quickly on paved courses. Similarly, you can adjust the frame of your kart as well as the glider for flying any way you like.

Familiar faces from the Mushroom Kingdom return to the circuits but a fresh batch of 1_9.jpgnewcomers are ready to prove their mettle, too! Super Mario 64 fans will remember Metal Mario, and also Lakitu is playable for the first time. Plus, you can also play as your very own Mii character!

The games features 16 brand new tracks as well as favourites from previous games in the series, from wild rides over mountains, on city streets and through a dusty desert. Nintendo fans will recognise new courses on Wuhu Island and in the jungles from Donkey Kong Country Returns. There's land, sea and air, so you'll be flying and going underwater - even on some of your favourite classic tracks! And, where previously each race consisted of several laps around the same course, some new tracks like one on Wuhu Island now offer one long course from start to finish, with plenty of hazards en route!

If you're looking for an even more immersive experience, the game also makes use of gyro controls. In this mode the camera switches to cockpit view and you can steer by rotating the system, putting you firmly in the driver's seat!
